Artist Fernand Renard (1912-1990) is probably best-known for the trompe l’oeil murals he painted in the famous garden shed at Bunny Mellon’s home in Middleburg, VA. Renard also worked as a decorative painter for the interior decoration firm Maison Jansen. His works have sold at auction for up to $37,000.
