Giuseppe Aureli was born in Rome in 1858 and he died in 1929. He worked in watercolor primarily, but also in oil and gouache. Best known for his scenes of harems and orientalist scenes, but also known for genre scenes from late 19th century Rome. Paintings have sold for up to $30,000 at auction.
