Ralph Jacobs was born in 1940 in the farming community of El Centro, California. Primarily a self taught artist, he specialized in landscapes, still life works, and portraits. He studied with Evelyn Nadeau, Frederick Taubes, and Abel Warshawsky.
Having spent most of his artistic career on the Monterey Peninsula, he owned his own Gallery in Carmel. He has had one man shows at the De Saisset Museum, Stanford Research Institute, Fresno Art Center, the De Young Museum in San Francisco, American Artists Professional League, Rosicrucian Museum, and the Cunningham Memorial Gallery.
Jacobs has exhibited widely throughout California. He has won awards for his work at the Society of Western Artists, the De Young Museum, Santa Cruz Statewide Exhibition, Lodi Grape Festival, and the Monterey County Fair.
His works have been reproduced in a book entitled “Prize Winning Art” in 1963, 64, and 65. He is listed in “Who’s Who In California Art”.
