This Russian icon is encased in a period (c. 1900) shadowbox with glass cover. Inside the shadowbox was a page from a Springfield Massachusetts newspaper article dated 1972 that discusses an exhibition of Russian icons in Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

Russian icon that measures 7″ x 6″ in its frame. Image is 5″ x 4″ and there is a title in Cyrillic beneath the depiction of Mary and Jesus. There is a date of 1881 on the back of the icon. The icon is encased in a shadowbox with glass cover and the shadowbox is 8″ x 7″ and 2.5″ deep. Icon is in very good condition and shadowbox is in good condition as well. Ready to display. Photo is of icon without shadowbox.
