Grace Eastman was born in Buffalo, New York on September 8, 1860. A descendent of Sanford Eastman, a Physician (1821-1874), she appeared to have a somewhat priviledged life. She listed her occupation in the 1920 U.S. Census as an artist, living in New York City at the time. The last census noted was for 1930.
It appears that she traveled somewhat as she did live in Riverside, California for a while and apparently moved to Manhattan after her father’s death in 1874.
Records show that Ms. Eastman and her sister were in Monhegan, Maine in September of 1925. She died on March 17, 1931.
