Maud Briggs Knowlton was an artist and museum director (Currier Museum in New Hampshire). She is known for her watercolor and oil paintings, particularly of Monhegan Island. There was a recent front page article on her work in the Newtown Bee (7/5/19 edition). Her work is currently being exhibited at the Monhegan Museum.
