Born in 1923 in Clementon, New Jersey, Wayne Morrell studied and later worked primarily in industrial and commercial design. He began painting in 1953 and left the design field in 1961 to devote his entire energy to the fine arts. He was a member of the Allied Artists of America, Grand Central Art Galleries, American Artists Professional League, American Veterans Society, Salmagundi Club, Hudson Valley Artists, Springfield Academic Artists, Southern Vermont Art Association, and the Rockport Art Association.  Wayne Morrell died in Rockport, Massachusetts in 2013.

Wayne Morrell’s art can be found in the Butler Institute of American Art, the Columbus Museum of Fine Art, the American Watercolor Society, the Vermont Art Association, the Rockport Art Association, and in private collections throughout the United States. A similar painting (slightly larger) sold at Grogan’s November 2020 auction for $6,000.00.
